Looking Back

As my first design internship, the experience at Information Solutions Department was both exciting and formative. Working as the sole designer alongside five developers gave me valuable exposure to how design and development come together in real-time. Sitting side by side with the team helped me better understand development processes and sparked a genuine interest in the field, which eventually led me to pursue a junior web developer internship.

Throughout the internship, I learned how to balance creativity with brand consistency and gained hands-on experience crafting practical design systems, from PowerApps style guides to motion design for internal branding. One highlight was leading the branding for an internal initiative called Innovation Talk, where I delivered a full set of visual assets — including posters, banners, and a video intro — all within a tight timeline. It was a fast-paced but fulfilling way to wrap up the internship.

Beyond the work itself, I appreciated the people I met. Collaborating with the team, both in and outside of work, made the experience even more meaningful. This internship was not only a key moment in my growth as a designer, but also a meaningful foundation for how I hope to work and collaborate going forward.
